Well I haven’t posted in some time.  Actually, to be specific, since I thought Jessica was in the Top 5.  So I was wrong what can I say!! Or, maybe better said, maybe who the heck ever voted through Donald Braswell instead of Jessica was wrong and I was right!  Anyway, Jessica obviously didn’t make it into the Top 5 (yes I know this post is really, really late!!).  So what’s next for our little cutie?  Time will tell but I am confident Jessica has big things in store for her.  I promise to be better about posting (thanks SSunshine) and we will all know what Jessica is up to on this site.

Well, that’s what I think anyway!! Tuesday’s edition of America’s Got Talent put our dear Jessica against 9 other performers. Of course, this week we are moving from 10 acts, down to 5. It looks to me like the Wright Kids, Kaetlyn Mairs, Sinatra guy, and one or two others are sure to be taken out this week. My math skills tells me that Jessica is a sure shot for a top 5 spot!! Her rendition of Sarah McLachlan’s “In the Arms of an Angel” was MUCH better than last weeks performance. I’ll be honest, Jessica’s guitarless performance puzzled me a bit but I really liked it. It was obvious that the audience and the judges loved it as well. Let’s hope my math skills hold up and Jessica makes it to the Top 5.

Well, I’m not quite sure where to start on this one. I guess if I’m being honest, it just simply wasn’t a good performance. I didn’t like the song choice, and I certainly didn’t like the very unnatural facial gestures that Jessica made throughout the song. It came across as a performance that just wasn’t quite right from the get go. I think one of the biggest challenges for Jessica up until this point has been that she is singing someone else’s material. She has yet to be given the opportunity to sing original work. This week the group will go from 20 to 10 contestants, to be decided on Thursday night. Please tell me – there are at least 10 groups/acts that aren’t going to make it right? I can think of a few from tonight’s show that won’t make it beyond this week: The Zooperstars, Daniel Jens, and The James Gang are surely gone. Please just tell me that there will be enough bad performances to let Jessica get another shot at performing. Because let’s face it – that performance really wasn’t very good. I just hope it doesn’t cost Jessica the opportunity to really show the talent that she has. If you have any comments, or simply think I’m way off base on this one, please post it in the comments section. And finally, just to be fair, I’m going to watch the video again tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes.

Okay, so we’ve had several people contact us wanting a place to talk about the situation with Jessica’s dad. We will be honest, we don’t know the first thing about this situation. Further, it is really not any of our business and these things do happen in life. It is obvious however, that when Jessica Price’s dad left the family household it had a long lasting effect. So, you asked for it and you got it. What do you think about this situation? Our two cents: these things happen, it is unfortunate, but people involved in these situations need to move one because life doesn’t stop. No one will ever really know what Jessica’s father’s intentions were or his reasons for leaving. We are just glad that Jessica now has the world’s attention and has a stage for that beautiful voice. As mentioned in a previous post, some of the greatest music in the world comes from sadness, pain, and turmoil. Does Jessica’s beautiful voice and deeply emotional singing come from her past? Someone very dear to me once said that we are simply the sum of all of our experiences. That the person we are today is the result of all the people we have met, the pain we have felt, and the sadness we have endured. Okay, enough of the rambling, if you’ve got something to add go ahead, and if not, let’s move beyond this issue and focus on today, focus on Jessica, and focus on her winning America’s Got Talent!

I think this was a great performance!   I have received several emails asking me to put this one up on the fan site so here you go.   The more I think about that night, the more I think that she really has a shot to win it all.  There simply isn’t that much competition. The only one who I think compares talent wise is Sarah Lenore.  So, let’s all be sure to vote Jessica when we get the chance!!  Singing Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” she really caused the audience and judges take notice.   

Here is a video I came across of Jessica Price singing on a small stage at a coffee shop.   There appears to be 30 or 40 people watching her a few others perform.  The video begins with her singing Beyonce’s “You Must Not Know About Me” and continues with her singing Alison Krause’s “When You Say Nothing At All” which by the way, happens to be one of my favorite songs.  I think Jessica did the song some justice!  I’m not sure what that third song she sings is.  If anyone knows post it here so we can all know!!

Came across this video of Jessica Price so I thought I’d share.  Appears to be from 2006 when she was singing on stage at what appears to be a small community gathering.  I am told that those are two of her close friends on stage, Mitch Myers and Derek Sisson.  The video is really poor quality but you can definitely hear that voice!   It seems to my untrained ear that she definitely missed a few notes but still sounded great!  What do you think??

Singing “I can’t make you love me” by Bonnie Raitt, Jessica sounded great!   Before she sang, she talked about her father being the worship minister at church and that is how she got started singing.   Jessica talks about her father being a good musician and how he taught her everything she knows.   She apparently turned to music as an emotional outlet even more after her father left the household.  It is obvious that Jessica is truly an emotional wreck when it comes to her parents separation but how knows, isn’t that where all great artists get their inspiration from?  Hard times have brought us some great music!! Anyway, take a look at her first performance and you can tell she is something special.
