Well, I’m not quite sure where to start on this one. I guess if I’m being honest, it just simply wasn’t a good performance. I didn’t like the song choice, and I certainly didn’t like the very unnatural facial gestures that Jessica made throughout the song. It came across as a performance that just wasn’t quite right from the get go. I think one of the biggest challenges for Jessica up until this point has been that she is singing someone else’s material. She has yet to be given the opportunity to sing original work. This week the group will go from 20 to 10 contestants, to be decided on Thursday night. Please tell me – there are at least 10 groups/acts that aren’t going to make it right? I can think of a few from tonight’s show that won’t make it beyond this week: The Zooperstars, Daniel Jens, and The James Gang are surely gone. Please just tell me that there will be enough bad performances to let Jessica get another shot at performing. Because let’s face it – that performance really wasn’t very good. I just hope it doesn’t cost Jessica the opportunity to really show the talent that she has. And finally, just to be fair, I’m going to watch the video again tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes.

“Right from the get go” she was accidently buzzed. That would be enough to throw any performer off professional or otherwise. I thought she was adorable as usual. She does deserve to be in the top ten based on her overall performances for sure. Whoever is picking her songs for her does not realize she should be singing with a back up band, in her sweetest jeans and rock out an Evanescences song(or something similar), HELLO! I’ve seen her do it and win a local contest hands down. Her voice is dynamic! I voted for her and will continue to. Her album is the only album I would buy so far, well, maybe Eli’s too.

I was really disappointed after watching the performance live, but when I watched it again on “You Tube” today, it did not seem quite so bad. I did not like this song when Colbie Callait sang it. It is very hokey with its simple rhymes – smile/while, toes/nose. I think 4 year old Kaitlyn could have written it.
The buzzer sounding before Jessica even started was unfortunate. I thought that Sharon must not like the way she was sitting or something. Piers told her to smile more last week and then when she did, he thought it was “cheesy”. Even if he thought this, the buzzer was uncalled for.
Jessica is at her best when she has very little make-up on, more casually styled hair, and singing what she wants to sing with some emotion. Last night it looked like someone was trying to fit her into the Jessica Simpson, Sarah Lenore cookie-cutter mold. She is so much better than this!
I really hope that she received enough support to take her to the Top Ten. Jessica’s natural beauty and emotion filled songs are what America needs to see and hear! I hope her AGT stylist and song advisor wake up and realize this as well!!!
Yeah, I must say this is not my favourite performance by Jessica. I don’t know, I suppose that she can’t be dynamite everyday. I mean there is still some raw talent there, but the performance itself just didn’t come off so well. Maybe her next clip will be back to the top quality stuff we have all become so accustommed to.
It was a poor performance and I think Jessica knows it. I am disappointed because my hopes and expectation of her are so high and this perfromance fell flat. She can do better and hopefully will have several opportunities to put in better performances. I guess everyone is entitled to an off day sometimes.
Jessica is amazing! I agree that they’re trying to fit her into a mold. I’ve been telling my family she needs to rock out to Evanescence too. Funny I’m not the only one who loves it when this itty bitty girl sings with such a HUGE voice. She totally transforms from this innocent, angelic, shy girl into a ROCK STAR!!

Didn’t like this performance and pretty much agreed with Pierce.. However the blame must also go to the producers of the show.. who are picking the song for her. Let Jessica pick a song on her own.. she can blow other singers out.
