Singing “I can’t make you love me” by Bonnie Raitt, Jessica sounded great! Before she sang, she talked about her father being the worship minister at church and that is how she got started singing. Jessica talks about her father being a good musician and how he taught her everything she knows. She apparently turned to music as an emotional outlet even more after her father left the household. It is obvious that Jessica is truly an emotional wreck when it comes to her parents separation but how knows, isn’t that where all great artists get their inspiration from? Hard times have brought us some great music!! Anyway, take a look at her first performance and you can tell she is something special.

This performance by Jessica on America’s Got Talent is very good. I especially like the introduction where Jessica quite openly discusses her feelings about her father, and how she used that negative experience to create wonderful music. I’d like to know why her dad would just pack up and leave. If she were my daughter that thought wouldn’t even cross my mind.

I just love how sincere she is, and can’t understand for the life of me why she would still love her dad after he walked out on her. I think that shows how much of a creep her dad really is. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to hurt this lovely and tremendously talented young woman. I hope she can someday forgive her dad, but until then she is best off using this negative experience to create really good music! Maybe success really is the best revenge.
I can understand her feeling, she rely on her day so much and always make her dad as the person she respect even though her dad left them. I respect her so much and hope her voice will reach her day someday.
if I saw her dad walking down the street, I would walk up to him and give him a good piece of my mind. I can’t understand why he wouldn’t want to be a part of her life. Jessica is a rising star and one day she will make so much money from her songs, and then I bet her low life dad will want to step back into the picture and when he does I hope Jessica says “Dad, I love you, but I am not giving you one red cent!”.
You might be right noddy and i agree with you, but i think Jessica won’t think that way as she really appreciate her day so much.
Pretty girl, i can imagine how she feel because i am in the same situation with her, i did not angry my dad as well and i just hope he will come back someday.

Great Performance, i can say she will become star of tomorrow from her first performance.
Especially when she sings, “Here in the dark ….” you can really feel the emotional power of the song…. She has that magic effect of making the song better just by her voice.
